Tales of the Trade

1) In one sentence what is your podcast about?

Tales of the Trade is a show focused on Dubai’s entrepreneurs & pioneers and some untold stories behind the ideas they brought to life.

AMAEYA FM is a Dubai based independent podcast network, currently producing 4 shows covering entrepreneurship, society & culture, self-help & technology.

2) Who should listen to your podcast?

Tales of the Trade focuses on inspirational stories about regional entrepreneurs. Anyone wanting to learn more about being an entrepreneur, looking for motivation to get started on their own ideas, learning from people who’ve done, or just enjoy a great story should listen in!

3) How long have you been podcasting and how did you get into podcasting?

I got into podcasting a couple of years ago initially because I was frustrated with the way discussions were done (primarily on TV) and how often reporters or the “experts” they spoke to were just ill-informed. After complaining about it for a couple years decided I’d do it myself. This then spawned into looking at regional stories and viewpoints and showcasing them through a variety of shows that make up the AMAEYA FM network which began in Oct 2017.

4) What non-podcasting hobbies do you have?

I’ve always been a techie at heart, and working with new tech (and opining on it) forms part of my usual day. Reading and oddly enough driving form my simpler hobbies, find it extremely soothing.

5) Tell us about your setup (recording equipment, studio, etc)!

We have a rented studio space for some of the shows, but for Tales of the Trade, we’ve primarily recorded on-site: everything from local restaurants to a community theatre served as locations for our recordings (Pic attached).
