New Release! We’ve Revamped Our Creator and Credits Editing System

Podchaser is the home of podcast credits, amassing more than 17.5 million credits in 2017. For years, we’ve made it our mission to help the people involved in podcast creation (hosts, guests, producers, actors, composers, and more) receive the credit their hard work deserves.

We are excited to announce the release of a complete overhaul of our creator and credits editing system. Our new mobile-first design lets users add credits to Podchaser in a flash, powering discovery and ensuring creators get the recognition they deserve.

Creator profiles and credits are among the top ways listeners discover new shows. Recognizing this, we’ve given Podchaser users the ability to submit creator profiles. Users can now add credits or view a podcast creator’s profile to see their podcasting history and follow the creators that spark their interest.

Plus, to standardize the roles and credits in podcasting, we’ve integrated updates from Podcast Taxonomy, a cross-industry collaboration to standardize roles and credits in podcasting. Now we’re taking it to the next level.

Adding a creator has never been easier

Our new creator editor is refreshed and easier to use, with new features to help you achieve your podcasting dreams.

You’re a Wizard, Podchaser! – Our new wizard user interface (UI) walks you through each step of the credits process to help you get the details right. If only life were so easy.

What’s a Creator, Again? We all need a refresher sometimes. If you’re curious about what a creator profile is (and isn’t), a new onboarding screen walks you through the does and don’ts of creating a profile. Already an expert? Simply dismiss it and never see it again.

Import to Save Time – In a rush or just feeling stuck? We’ve got you covered. A new import feature lets you capture details from Twitter and Wikipedia to build your creator profile at lightning speed — then edit to details to get things just right.

Stage Names and Aliases – Sometimes, people have more than one name. Maybe it’s a stage name or an alter ego. Think Clark Kent and Superman, or Donald Glover and Childish Gambino. To ensure everyone searching for your creator profile finds you, no matter how they search for you, we’ve added a new field to creator profiles called “Also known as .” Here you can add in other names that the creator goes by publicly.

Link it up! It’s called the world wide web for a reason, and now you can add links to creator profiles to add more spiderwebs to the web (is the metaphor breaking down yet?). Add links to your creator’s other websites and social accounts – such as TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and official websites.

Credits Updates & Approvals – Add credits in no time, with a new “Submit an edit” button. And know when your updates go live with approval status.

New Episode Selection – Quick credit pills make things simple. Edit existing episode credits instantly, with a new design that sorts, groups, and selects episodes better.

New Role Selection – Gives you access to all the roles in Podcast Taxonomy, plus brief descriptions of each role and show. And with suggested credits, you can add roles to creator profiles in no time.

Recurring Roles – Add a role once, sit back, and watch credits get added to new episodes automatically.
