Stacey’s Pop Culture Parlour is a monthly UK podcast on pop culture, best served with tea and cake.
Anyone with a passion for movies, comics, books, video games, TV and music, who don’t mind a Brummie accent and a bit of profanity!
I actually started podcasting waaaay back in 2007 as one half of the lady podcasting duo Comic Racks. I was first bitten by the podcasting bug after a guest spot on Geek Syndicate, and have since developed a real love for sharing my passions with like-minded folk on my show.
If I’m not at work or working on a podcast, I’m at the cinema! I’m also a huge fan of singing, so you’ll often find me at karaoke bars (or accidentally singing out loud on the bus like a wally!)
My set up is basically the Thrifty Lass Special; a laptop, a USB mic, some headphones and my bed! I dream of one day having a home studio… *insert gif of Wayne in the movie ‘Wayne’s World’, coveting that rad guitar* It will be mine, oh yes…
If you’re a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and weird improv humour, Turtle Power Pod is a must! The hosts, Basem & Cranny, are totally tubular, dude!
As I love to bring a smile to people’s faces, I’ve been using my podcast to raise money for worthy causes. Back in 2014, I broadcast the first of my 24hr charity live shows, now known as SPCP Live, and raised £1300 for Operation Smile! In 2016, I raised just under £1500 for the Alzheimer’s Society, and in April this year I managed to raise £1510 for the British Heart Foundation. As such, I was jokingly named “Empress of Podcasting” by the folks at Geekie Brummie, and am now 100% trying to get that nickname to take off!
