How to Promote Your Podcast:

My Feed vs. Popular Feed

The feed features two tabs you can cycle between: My Feed and Popular Feed. The Popular Feed showcases highlights across Podchaser’s community, allowing you to discover new shows, creators, and reviews. My Feed only shows updates from the podcasts, creators, and community members that you follow.

Let’s dig into how you can maximize these two feeds for unlimited podcast discovery.

How to Discover Podcasts Using Podchaser’s Feeds

You can customize or curate your feed by following your favorite podcasts, creators, lists, and community members. We break down each one below.

Follow Your Favorite Podcasts

When you follow a show on Podchaser you’ll get updates in the feed when they post a new episode. This helps you stay on top of the latest episodes and who they’ve brought on as a guest. When you find something you’re interested in, you can play the episode immediately, or click the bookmark button to save it for later.

If you like the guest, you can click on their creator profile to explore their other appearances. Be sure to rate the episodes you love to spread the word to other community members.

Follow your Favorite Creators

Following a creator on Podchaser is a fantastic way to be notified about new episodes, entirely new podcasts, and guest appearances on other shows.

Once you follow them, their appearances will show up in activity cards on your feed. You’ll see everything they do, no matter their role on the show (host, guest, producer, editor, etc.). Travis McElroy, for example, hosts several wildly popular podcasts but occasionally dabbles in producing other shows. We keep track of everything so you don’t miss any content from your favorite creators.

Follow Fellow Podcast Listeners

Following other podcast fans lets you discover new podcasts and creators by seeing their activity on Podchaser. Once you follow a user, your feed updates every time they review a podcast, create a list, or follow new podcasts, creators, and other users. You can also visit their profile page to discover their top 8 podcasts for some instant discovery.

Oftentimes creators are also avid listeners, so you may want to follow both their creator page and their user profile. It’s fun to discover your favorite podcasters’ favorite podcasts!

Follow Interesting Lists

Every Podchaser user has the ability to compile shareable lists, which are a great way to find new podcasts curated by real humans. These can either be of episodes (Best Sword and Scale Episodes) or of podcasts themselves (100 Best True Crime Podcasts of All-Time).

By following a list you’ll receive updates in your feed every time a new podcast or episode is added to the list. Each time they’re added, an activity card in your feed will pop up and you’ll be able to instantly rate, review, and listen to the episode.

How to Promote your Podcast with Podchaser’s Feeds

If you’re a podcaster, there are several ways to promote your show and get more followers on Podchaser. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Claim Your Show on Podchaser

Claiming your podcast allows you to customize your podcast page and directly interact with listeners. You can add merch to your show page, create a custom badge, and organize your show using exclusive categories. All of these tools allow your show to stand out from other posts on the feed, intriguing listeners to give your show a shot.

Make Creator Profiles

There are many creative roles that go into making a podcast, and Podchaser’s creator profiles reflect. Beyond the host, every producer, editor, guest, and voice actor deserves their credit. Once you claim your show you can create profiles for every contributor to your show.

Simply put, the creator profiles you add to your podcast, the more your podcast is discoverable, so be sure to include every contributor.

Respond to User Reviews

Once you claim your podcast, you can respond to their reviews to build up a rapport with your community. The screenshot above came from the Popular Feed, so by responding to one review the “Who is Cam Candor” podcast has boosted their street-cred with the entire Podchaser community.

Conclusion

Most of the time, podcast listening is a solitary pleasure, whether you’re driving to work or wearing headphones while doing the dishes. Podchaser’s feed enables podcast fans to share their enthusiasm with other listeners and podcast creators.

The same social environment benefits creators, who can uniquely promote their shows by creating creator profiles for their contributors, customizing their show page, and directly responding to fans on Podchaser.
