#Reviews4Good: Round 2

Meals on Wheels America Go Further Fund logo

Last year, in a conscious effort to help those most affected by the pandemic, we introduced our annual #Reviews4Good fundraiser. COVID-19’s ongoing impact is incredibly palpable, still touching underserved and vulnerable communities over a year since it began. Senior folks, in particular, are one of the leading groups struggling with the return to everyday life. The mandated lock-downs left many isolated, depriving them of basic needs like nutritious meals and social interaction. That’s why we’ve chosen to continue our support of the Meals on Wheels America’s Go Further Fund program! It’s an excellent, proactive charity that increased its operations over the last year, adapting to ensure millions of seniors have access to food, human connection, and assistance.

* Donations may be capped to a maximum value by each partner.

On top of generous contributions, these organizations spread the word about #Reviews4Good and incentivized more and more podcasters to get involved! The more listeners and podcasters we have participating in our fundraising efforts, the more successful this event will be!

How to Participate

Whether you’re a listener, podcaster, or industry partner, there are plenty of ways to get involved!

Listeners

Listeners, no pressure, but you have the most important job! Every time you review a podcast or episode on Podchaser, we donate 25 cents. That means the more shows you review, the more money we donate.

Start venturing out and listening to new shows, then come back to Podchaser and REVIEW, REVIEW, REVIEW!!!!

Leave a review for a podcast

About Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels America is an organization that ensures senior citizens are fed, connected, and safe. When the Covid-19 Pandemic hit, millions of seniors were suddenly left alone and isolated from the world around them. Groceries were harder to come by, and wellness checks became harder for families and loved ones to do.

Despite all these challenges and many others, Meals on Wheels continued to provide nutritious meals, wellness checks, and friendly visits to not just the residents who already relied on their services but millions more! To learn more, check out Meals on Wheels America and consider getting involved by either volunteering or donating directly to them!

From the Meals on Wheels America website:

Meals on Wheels America is the leadership organization supporting more than 5,000 community-based programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior isolation and hunger. This network serves virtually every community in America and, along with more than two million staff and volunteers, delivers nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks that enable America’s seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity. By providing funding, leadership, education, research, and advocacy support, Meals on Wheels America empowers its local member programs to strengthen their communities, one senior at a time.

About the Go Further Fund

From the Meals on Wheels America website:

When COVID-19 hit, millions of older adults found themselves more vulnerable and in need of urgent support, practically overnight. Thanks to donors and supporters, Meals on Wheels rose to the challenge and made Good Go Further to deliver 19 million more meals to an additional one million seniors. We’ve launched a new campaign to celebrate the good our community of supporters made happen for seniors threatened by COVID-19.

How to Help Meals on Wheels America

FAQs

How many reviews can I leave?

As many as you want! Just make sure they’re over 20 characters in length to qualify!

How do I leave a review?

We have instructions right here!

  1. Visit any podcast or episode page on Podchaser.
  2. Hit the “Rate” or “Review” button on the page.
  3. Type in your review and hit “Save!”

I’m a podcaster. How can I reply to a review?

  1. Head to Podchaser.com
  2. Claim your podcast on Podchaser.
  3. Visit the reviews tab of your podcast page.
  4. Click the “reply” button and write out your response!

Why don’t you just donate to the charity without making people leave reviews?

Let us assure you that we’re going to donate no matter what. It’s the right thing to do, but this initiative is also a way to support our community. Our goal for #Reviews4Good is to raise money for a great cause while simultaneously shedding some light on some great shows. We think this is a win-win across the board.

Why do you require a minimum character length for reviews?

Twenty characters is not a significant amount, and a length requirement helps limit one-word and emoji reviews, which are generally unhelpful for podcasts and listeners alike. Podcasters love to hear what people think of their show, so we want each review to be insightful for other listeners as well as for podcasters!

How much is Podchaser donating?

We’re donating 25 cents for every podcast or episode review and an additional 25 cents every time a podcaster replies to a review left on their show.
