Gerry Anderson’s UFO

In episode 53 we talk about Gerry Anderson's UFO (1970 )set in the future of 1980's where them pesky aliens are attacking earth but for what reason ( to catch Pokemon or plant them ) will we ever find out. UFO was the Andersons' first totally live-action TV series. Despite the assumption of many TV station executives, the series was not aimed at children but was intended for an older audience; many episodes featured adult themes such as adultery, divorce, and drug use. Most of the cast were newcomers to Century 21, although star Ed Bishop had previously worked with the Andersons as a voice actor on Captain Scarlet and The Mysterons.

Episode 57 is all about Blake's 7 the cult BBC Sci-Fi show of 1978. Blake's 7 was popular from its first broadcast, watched by approximately 10 million in the UK and shown in 25 other countries. The Way Back Former resistance leader Roj Blake witnesses a massacre and is subsequently framed for a series of fictional crimes by the totalitarian Federation.

Thunderbirds follows the exploits of the Tracy family, headed by American ex-astronaut turned multi-millionaire philanthropist Jeff Tracy he is a widower with five adult sons The Tracys form International Rescue (IR), a secret organisation dedicated to saving human life.    
Terrahawks (1986)

The last of our look at Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation with Terrahawks although not supermarionation but be filmed in Supermacromation. The series is set in the year 2020, after an alien force has destroyed NASA's Mars base and Earth is under threat. A small organisation, The Terrahawks, is set up to defend the planet. From Hawknest, their secret base in South America, they develop sophisticated weapons to prepare for the battles to come. And my god I hated ever minute of this very poor show.

Episode 51 we talk Buck Rogers. Star Wars was a big hit so what could cash in on that none other than Captain William Anthony "Buck" Rogers. Universal then opted to release the first Buck Rogers TV movie theatrically on March 30, 1979. Good box-office returns led NBC to commission a weekly series.

The show features the efforts of Ares, the god of war, played by Kevin Tod Smith, who attempts often to destroy his younger half-brother to win over Zeus' good graces. Among his group is his nephew Strife, who is the rather weaker member of the team. Strife's mother is Discord, goddess of retribution , who acts more level-headed and power hungry than her counterpart on more than one occasion.
