Aaron Dalton is an audio obsessive. He's written, produced, edited, and directed over a thousand hours of broadcast radio, hundreds of weekly shows, podcast episodes, segments, features, articles, video webcasts, and more. His pieces have aired on stations across the US and all over the world, from the BBC to the Australian Broadcast Corp., to New York Public Radio and NPR.
He started as a recording engineer at esteemed analog studios such as Sear Sound and Stratosphere Sound, then spent a few years producing concerts and tours, before joining WQXR, the leading classical music radio station. There he produced several nationally-syndicated series, including Carnegie Hall Live and the Spring for Music Festival broadcasts. As a freelancer, he's produced work such as Concerts from the Frick Collection, and the Metropolitan Opera Saturday matinee, the topical debate show, Intelligence Squared US, and the arty interview show She's A Talker.
He led WNYC's American Standards programming while developing pilots for NYPR. He produced and sound designed the podcast Naked American Songbook, which he co-created with host Julian Fleisher.
In 2019 he took over as senior producer for the political podcast Stay Tuned with Preet, and the subscription-only weekly news show, CAFE Insider. Then he moved to NBC Universal, first as senior producer for the NBC News impeachment show Article II with Steve Kornacki, then as sound designer for the MSNBC podcast Into America with Trymaine Lee.
