Andrea Long Chu is a writer and critic. Currently, she is the book critic at New York magazine. Chu's writing has appeared in n+1, New York, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Artforum, Bookforum, Boston Review, Chronicle of Higher Education, 4Columns, and Jewish Currents. She has published papers on gender studies in and she has published on academic subjects in differences, Journal of Speculative Philosophy, Women & Performance, and Transgender Studies Quarterly. Her first book, "Females," an extended annotation of a lost play by Valerie Solanas, was published in 2019. Chu received her M.A. in Comparative Literature from New York University.
