Kindness is king. This is how we live our lives, but sometimes women can be fooled into thinking thank being kind means being "nice." We miss out on standing up for ourselves, for others, and doing the thing we are called to do, because we worry too much about social etiquette, approvals and permissions.
Today's episode is all about women who take precisely no crap from anyone, while living a life they love. From fictional characters, to women of influence, to women in our every day life, we'll share the wisdom we can learn from a life well lived.
ALSO IT IS OUR TWO YEAR BIRTHDAY! You're invited to our party! At 5pm PST (7pm CST, 8pm EST) on October 1st, we're having a celebration in a virtual zoom room.
We'll record live with you, an episode called Everything We Never Told You, with presents we're giving away (you know, for best snack plate, cake or bologna sandwich, as an example), and a time for Q&A.
A fabulous hour for us to see your faces, and serve you the usual flow of sass and wisdom. You must be registered to attend, and you can do that by signing up here: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/5f5981e2b3bce80ac7765e03
We love you Why Tho listeners!!
As the saying goes, there is opportunity in chaos, and we want to help you find ways to get creative this year. If you're anything like us, there are far more barriers to creativity than ever. Decision fatigue (REAL), overwhelm, feeling like everything needs to be perfect around us before we can create, lack of systems, tools and people that lead to structure and stimulate a creative flow.
This episode will bless you no matter your job, side hustle, or daily schedule.
ALSO THIS IS EPISODE 100 OF WHY THO!
And as we mentioned on this episode, we're celebrating our TWO YEAR BIRTHDAY in one month.
We're having a birthday party, and you're invited! Our party theme is EVERYTHING WE NEVER TOLD YOU, and we'll dish the good dirt, laugh together, celebrate with presents (you'll have a chance to WIN), and maybe eat cake. Sorry, it's Zoom, so bring your own.
It's completely free, but we will need you to register to join us on October 1, at 5:30PM PST! Here's the link, so get it together, and send it to a friend!
Well, we made it this far, fam! And now, there are four months left in 2020. Some of you are drinking pumpkin spice lattes (unlike Ashley, the fall Scrooge, for sure), and some of you are gearing up for home school against your will, and continuing to work remotely, and navigate the world as we know it now.
With an election season and holidays on the horizon, we wanted to give you some helpful tips for how to set the tone for the remainder of the year, keeping you mentally and emotionally engaged and strong. You can do this, whatever your "this" is. We're proud of you dear listener, and love serving you each week! Thanks for tuning in for the show!
Mr. Rogers once said, "Feelings are mentionable and manageable." Sigh. Fred, we love you - how he has pastored so many of us (and now our children) through media is remarkable. Children, like adults, have some big feelings, and they don't always know how to manage them, and they cannot navigate life without our help. On today's episode, we share with you our top priorities in raising our young sons, and why these are important for us. Given the scandals and abuses of power we are all bearing witness to in the news today, it is important that we steward ourselves, and the next generation, with integrity and generosity. Whether you are single, co-parenting, single-parenting, or empty nesting, there's something in this episode for you, and we hope the insight helps you as you navigate your life and relationships.
We've got nothing but love for you, dear listener!
