Australia is on track to record its biggest wool stockpile in more than a decade. A lack of demand due to the economic impact of COVID-19 is driving down wool prices and that means farmers are less inclined to sell, so stocks are building.
The State Government has announced a new eight million dollar agricultural machinery specialist training facility will be built at the Muresk Institute, about 90 kilometres east of Perth. The facility will train people to repair and maintain modern farm equipment and provide workers to get this season's grain crop off.
Farmers on WA's drought-stricken south coast are rejoicing after the heavy rainfall. A storm front brought heavy downpour across the south coast yesterday, including the farming region around Jerramungup. Gairdner farmer Naomi Hall says it's a big relief.
