Dr. David Juurlink, MD, is a pharmacologist and internist. He is head of the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology division at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a medical toxicologist at the Ontario Poison Centre, and a scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.Juurlink is known for his research into adverse effects caused by drug interactions. He has been critical of the practice of prescribing dangerous opioids like fentanyl.Juurlink received his B.Phm. and his M.D. from Dalhousie University, and his Ph.D. in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto.
