Edward Charles O'Bannon, Jr. is a retired professional basketball player. He was a power forward for the UCLA Bruins, and was on their 1995 NCAA championship team. He is currently coaching the head coach of the boys' high school basketball.After college, O'Bannon played NBA basketball for two seasons with the New Jersey Nets. He then left the NBA, but continued to play professional basketball for another eight years, playing for "12 different teams in at least six countries and for 15 different coaches."O'Bannon is the lead plaintiff in O'Bannon v. NCAA, an antitrust class action lawsuit against the National Collegiate Athletic Association over their use of college athletes' images for profit. He won the lawsuit, which resulted in the discontinuation of NCAA video games.O'Bannon grew up in South Los Angeles. He attended the University of California Los Angeles while playing basketball for them, without graduating. After his basketball career, he attended UNLV to continue earning his bachelor's degree, then UCLA, where he received his B.A. in history.
