Early on during the "digital revolution" Gavin started a media business providing in-store radio, television, and plasma point-of-sale display to large corporations (most notably the entire Edcon Group - Edgars, Jet, CNA, Boardmans Etc), but clients also included Ster-Kinekor, parastatal Transnet, and creative and exciting mining-house Harmony Gold.In 2008, he sold his shares and took a sabbatical to spend more time with his three children and do a bit of traveling and thinking about future opportunities.He later got re-involved in his old business (AirMedia), but as a minor shareholder, leaving him lots of time to continue spending with his (now older) children, consulting for small businesses, coaching individual seeking to live the lives they want, writing a little, taking more photographs, and recently working as Operations Manager at Education Incorporated Private School,(EducationIncorporated.co.za) a unique Boutique School offering.His focus remains on helping people define and reach their goals and to optimize their businesses (particularly education-related ones).His "next big thing" is everything to do with Podcasts and Audiobooks and Gavin has built and equipped several new studios under the Solid Gold brand to make this happen.
