Georgios Tsourous is an anthropologist and researcher whose work focuses on religion, ritual, and material culture in the Eastern Mediterranean. He is the author of Orthodox Choreographies: Boundaries, Borders and Materiality in Jerusalem's Old City, published by Gorgias Press in 2024. The book examines how Eastern Orthodox Christian practices shape and are shaped by the physical and social landscapes of Jerusalem’s Old City, offering insights into pilgrimage, sacred space, and interreligious coexistence. Tsourous’s research combines ethnography and performance theory to analyze lived religion and its spatial dimensions in contested urban environments.
