Hal Ackerman is a writer of novels and plays. Until his retirement in 2015, he was co-area head of the UCLA screenwriting program. Ackerman’s fiction has appeared in North Dakota Review, New Millennium Writings, Southeast Review, Crab Creek Review, The Pinch, and the Idaho Review. His first novel, "Stein, Stoned," was published in 2010.
