Today, I’m giving you my personal advice and tips for creating cross-training opportunities for yourself...  DOWNLOAD the free worksheet!  Subscribe to my YouTube Channel. After being cross-trained in 4 different modalities myself, and as a hiring manager who interviews technologists for cross-training opportunities, I wanted to create this video to provide some tips for obtaining these opportunities, as well as describe steps you can take to be proactive.  Make sure to download the free worksheet if you're truly serious about cross-training into another modality.  This Radiology Q&A video was made as a result of questions from the "Rad Tech Career Advice" Facebook Page.  Check it out HERE. Yesterday, I went live on Instagram to talk about the weekly challenge kickoff - the very first challenge is simple: Collimate 1/2" tighter than you usually do for PA and AP chest x-rays.  Also, YouTube video production plans, info about my new website and products coming soon, and of course, I'd like to know what type of radiography-related content you'd like to see! In this first episode of my new series, "Radiology Q&A", I'm answering the question, "what happens when the x-ray button is pressed?"     Subscribe for more Radiology and Q&A videos like this on YouTube!  As an instructor of radiologic technology teaching exposure principles, this is a question we spend some time on throughout the radiography program.  I'm doing my best to sum it up in just a few short minutes!  Essentially, the x-ray button is pressed half-way to cause two main things to happen: anode acceleration to constant velocity and thermionic emission at the cathode.  Once that constant velocity has been reached at the anode, the technologist has the green light to press the button the entire way down... this causes potential difference (kVp) to be applied to the current going to the anode, which propels the electrons toward the tungsten target of the anode, where x-rays are produced as a result of their interaction.   CLICK HERE to sign up for my mailing list!
