1570: Best Of, Sam Feltham Takes On Calorie Myths With His 5,000-Calorie Self-Experiments
The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore
While Jimmy is gone on a much needed and deserved sabbatical for six months to rest and recuperate, we will be bringing you the best of the best from the vast archive of shows that Jimmy has accumulated over the last 15 years. We also will be airing shows from his wildly popular JIMMY RANTS live show that originated on Instagram Live and now resides at JimmyRants.com. “Lots of people just said that I had a high metabolism, so I did the experiment again with 5000 calories of junk food to prove the difference in real food and junk food.” Sam Feltham Paid advertisement Calories, calories, calories. It’s all we ever hear about when it comes to weight loss and health these days. All the so-called health experts say you just need to eat less calories in your diet and exercise off more calories through activity to create a calorie deficit and you’ll easily lose weight. It’s as simple as that. But is it really? Skepticism about the calories in, calories out hypothesis has been growing over the past few years, even amongst mainstream public health researchers at Harvard University. Health podcaster Jonathan Bailor will be releasing a book about this topic in December 2013 entitled The Calorie Myth: How to Eat More, Exercise Less, Lose Weight, and Live Better that will challenge everything we’ve always believed to be true about calories. But over in the UK, there’s a man who decided to take a different tactic in tackling the problem with obsessing about the quantity of calories while neglecting the quality of the calories you are consuming. His name is Sam Feltham from “Smash The Fat” and he wanted to put this calorie thing to the ultimate test–he sacrificed himself for science to demonstrate the differences between calories consumed on a low-carb, high-fat diet vs. the calories from a low-fat, high-carb diet. In a pair of 21-day self-experiments conducted in May 2013 and then again in September 2013, Sam decided to consume a 5000+ calorie/day diet to see what would happen to his weight and measurements. Below you will see the final weigh-in results of each of these experiments to see a direct comparison of what happened:   Listen in as Jimmy and Sam talk about his work in the UK to educate the public there about fitness and nutrition, his concerns over the fallacies of the calorie hypothesis, why he decided to take it upon himself to test this theory on his naturally lean body, a comparison of the kind of foods he consumed during both of his experiments, the weight comparison following his isocaloric LCHF experiment and CARB experiment, whether he experienced any withdrawal symptoms after eating 5,000+ calories a day of sugary carbage, the conclusions he has drawn so far about calories after his first two experiments, his upcoming January 2014 experiment testing Dr. John McDougall’s starch-based diet, and so much more! If you’re still one of those people who thinks weight loss is all about the calories, then you gotta hear from this man who is showing us all just how bogus that really is.
1569: Does Being Fat And Obese Automatically Mean You’re Sick? Not Even Close!
The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore
Today we have a special JIMMY RANTS on The LLVLC Show for you. Jimmy is on his much deserved six-month sabbatical so we are bringing you some of the best content from Jimmy’s daily show JIMMY RANTS. Be sure to bookmark JimmyRants.com and dig through all of the content there during Jimmy’s time away. Paid advertisement “You’re going to hear people make the connection between obesity and sickness. You can achieve good health markers while you still have excess weight on your body.” Jimmy Moore Paid advertisement There is this concept being promoted by health professionals that being fat and obese means you are axiomatically and by default sick and diseased. This was most recently perpetuated in an interview of Dr. John McDougall that I parodied in a JIMMY RANTS BONUS episode you can see below. Keto Clarity Author Jimmy Moore’s 2019 Dr. John McDougall “Interview”: https://youtu.be/c0NvYcEkQik But does being fat mean you are automatically sick? Not a chance according to health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore who says you can have perfectly good metabolic health markers with weight on the body and you can be completely wrecked in your bloodwork while still being thin. Listen to Jimmy share more about how we culturally view people with extra weight unfairly in this episode.
1568: The Ironic Truth About All Of These Vegan Plant-Based ‘Burger’ Products
The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show With Jimmy Moore
Today we have a special JIMMY RANTS on The LLVLC Show for you. Jimmy is on his much deserved six-month sabbatical so we are bringing you some of the best content from Jimmy’s daily show JIMMY RANTS. Be sure to bookmark JimmyRants.com and dig through all of the content there during Jimmy’s time away. Paid advertisement “These companies are not stupid. They can make these burgers a whole lot cheaper than they can a cow burger. It’s just another example of food-like disease agents.” Jimmy Moore Paid advertisement Many people who decide to embrace a vegetarian, vegan, plant-based diet do so on the basis that innocent animals are being harmed unnecessarily all to become food for humans and they think that’s wrong. So when these so-called veggie “burger” products like Beyond Meat and Impossible Burger created with all plant-friendly ingredients in them mimicking the look and taste of an animal-based beef burger (including using beet juice and other ingredients to mimic “blood” on the burger), it’s gotten pretty weird. Read about it in the article below. Think That “Bleeding” Vegan Burger Is Super Healthy? Think Again: http://www.eatingwell.com/article/291777/think-that-bleeding-vegan-burger-is-super-healthy-think-again/ There is great irony in all of this to health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore who questions out loud why there is such a rush to have a recreation of a dead animal (blood and all!) if that is the very thing that is so abhorrent to someone in the plant-forward movement. Listen to see Jimmy’s reaction to these highly processed vegan burgers in this episode.   Paid advertisement

On this podcast, we’ve been sharing BRAND NEW INTERVIEWS with most of the 22 featured experts in the book as we give you the listeners a further glimpse into the heart and soul of what makes Keto Clarity such an awesome and unique resource for people desiring to attain the health improvements that come from being in ketosis. These interviews just keep coming! Today’s Keto Clarity expert interview is with a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa and a staff physician at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Hospital named Dr. Terry Wahls. She teaches medical students and resident physicians about applying nutritional therapies to improve the health of their patients and sees patients and does clinical research herself with traumatic brain injury as well as complex chronic health problems that often include multiple autoimmune disorders. Dr. Wahls is famous for being a patient with a chronic progressive neurological disorder: secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, which confined her to a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years which she chronicled in her famous 2011 TEDx Iowa City talk Minding Your Mitochondria. She credits the Wahls Protocol, which is based on functional medicine, with restoring her health, enabling her to now ride her bike five miles to work every day. She released a book in 2014 about her experience called The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo Principles and Functional Medicine. Listen to Jimmy and Dr. Wahls look further into why a micronutrition-rich low-carb, high-fat, ketogenic diet is such a powerful modality in treating so many of the chronic health problems of our day. We’ve still got a couple more weeks worth of Keto Clarity expert interviews to share and they just keep getting better and better.   Paid advertisement
