Jon Lovett is an American screenwriter, political commentator, and podcast host, known for his work in both entertainment and political media. He began his career as a speechwriter for President Barack Obama, contributing to major addresses during the administration. Transitioning to television, he co-created and wrote for the NBC political comedy series 1600 Penn and served as a writer and producer on HBO’s The Newsroom. Lovett later co-founded Crooked Media, where he hosts the popular podcast Lovett or Leave It and co-hosts Pod Save America. He is openly gay and an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
