Jordan S. Carroll received his PhD from the University of California, Davis. His most recent book is Speculative Whiteness: Science Fiction and the Alt-Right (University of Minnesota Press, 2024). His first book, Reading the Obscene: Transgressive Editors and the Class Politics of US Literature (Stanford University Press, 2021) won the MLA Prize for Independent Scholars. He is currently completing a book on race, science fiction, and the alt-right. His writing has appeared in American Literature, Post*45, The Nation, Polygon, Jacobin, and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
