Julie Isphording is a former American long-distance runner who gained recognition as a member of the first women's Olympic marathon team for the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Although she did not finish the Olympic marathon due to injury, her qualification and participation marked a significant moment in the history of women’s distance running. A standout collegiate athlete at Xavier University, Isphording went on to become a public speaker, author, and advocate for health and fitness. She has remained active in promoting running and wellness initiatives, particularly in the Cincinnati area.
