Karen Bovenmyer is an author and teacher. She teaches and mentors students at Iowa State University and Western Technical College. She is a co-creator of CyCon Science Fiction Convention. She is the Assistant Editor of Escape Artists’ Pseudopod Podcast.Bovenmyer has published more than 40 short stories and poems. Her first novel, "Swift for the Sun," was published in 2017.Bovenmyer received her B.A. in Anthropology, English, and History from Iowa State University and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing Popular Fiction from the University of Southern Maine.
