Kate Young, host, writer, and Executive Producer of This Is Purdue, has served as an executive producer for more than 20 podcasts, hosts her own show with more than 25,000 listeners, and is a proud Boilermaker.After graduating from Purdue University in 2012, she kicked off her broadcast journalism career as a digital producer and reporter at WANE-TV in Fort Wayne and later at WISH-TV in Indianapolis.Since then, she’s worked in public relations, social media, and sports marketing and previously worked for an agency that supported the IndyCar, Porsche Club of America, and more. One of her favorite career experiences was serving as the emcee and communications lead for the Porsche series. Kate then transitioned to a B2B podcast startup company and has more than 3 years of professional podcast experience under her belt. In 2020, she started her own podcast as a fun quarantine hobby - serving as host, executive producer, writer, and editor.She lives in Fountain Square in downtown Indy with her husband, David, and their rescue lab, Macaroni.
