Linda Corcoran (they/she) is completing a research MSc. in Food Science at University College Cork. Their research looks at the effects of the feeding systems on consumer liking of beef steaks, using an innovative sensory testing technique. Being a first-gen, disabled LGBTQ+ grad student, Linda is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion, sci-comm and mental health awareness. In their spare time, Linda advocates for mental health and disability awareness both in higher education and academia and in society and volunteers with several groups who align with this. For PhD Balance, Linda is a social media coordinator, Grad Chat Lead and part of their Speaking Team.
