Linda Spilker is an American planetary scientist born in 1955 known for her leadership in major NASA space exploration missions. She served as project scientist for the Cassini mission, which studied Saturn, its rings, and its moons from 2004 to 2017, contributing to research on the evolution and dynamics of Saturn’s ring system. Spilker has worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for decades on planetary science and spacecraft missions. In 2022, she became project scientist for the Voyager mission following the retirement of Edward Stone, overseeing the continued scientific operations of the spacecraft as they explore interstellar space.
