Dr. Matthew J. Lacombe is a researcher who specializes in American politics and interest groups, gun politics, political identity, and inequality. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in American Politics at Case Western Reserve University. Lacombe's work has appeared in several academic journals and in The New York Times, New Yorker, NBC News, NPR, Guardian, Washington Post, Vox, FiveThirtyEight, and Time. His first co-authored book, "Billionaires and Stealth Politics," was published in 2019. His second book, "Firepower: How the NRA Turned Gun Owners into a Political Force," was published in 2021.
