Dr. Nicholas Mulder a historian of twentieth-century European and international history. His research and teaching focuses on politics, economics, international institutions, and war in the 19th and 20th centuries. Currently, he is an assistant professor of modern European history at Cornell University.
Mulder also writes about current political and economic issues. He is a regular contributor to Foreign Policy and The Nation, in addition to articles published in journals. His first book, "The Economic Weapon: The Rise of Sanctions as a Tool of Modern War," was published in 2022.
Mulder received his B.A. from University College Utrecht, his M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, and his Ph.D. from Columbia University.
