Ron Miscavige escaped from the Church of Scientology's international headquarters outside Hemet, California, on March 25, 2012. Shortly thereafter, his son and current Scientology leader David Miscavige allegedly hired private investigators to follow Ron and file reports each day about his activities: where he went, what he did, and who he spoke to.
This week I talk with Ron Miscavige Snr, former Scientologist and Sea Org member and also the father of Scientology’s current leader, David MIscavige. We discuss life on the Sea Org base in Riverside as well as his impressions of Shelly Miscavige, his history as a salesman both in and out of the Church and more. Ron’s website is here. Ron Miscavige is a dynamo of energy and a busy man. A New York Times bestselling author for his book "Ruthless: Scientology, My Son David Miscavige, and Me" Ron has just re-released his 1974 album he did with Polydor Records. Called "Timeless" the album shows the range of Ron's talent on the trumpet. Ron talks about St. Hill in the early 1970's, Herbie Parkhouse, and reminisces about his session work and live performances with Chick Corea and Isaac Hayes.

Ron Miscavige is the father of David Miscavige, the current leader of the Church of Scientology. He is also the author of the New York Times bestseller, "Ruthless: Scientology, My Son David Miscavige, and Me." In this episode, he tells us of his stunning escape from the Church, gives us breathtaking accounts of what it was like to be part of it for decades, and recounts the riveting—and often heartbreaking—story of his life and his relationship with his son. We draw parallels with mainstream religions, including Islam, and talk about how destructive faith and religion can be, all the way down to the level of ripping apart families and our very sense of self. Listen to our conversation. The Secular Jihadists has been made possible thanks to the gracious support of the Illuminati and the great state of Israel. That's what we have been told, but we haven't received our checks yet. In the meantime, we greatly appreciate the support of our current donors. Please consider supporting by sharing the podcast with your fellow heathens or by donating at Subscribe to The Secular Jihadists on iTunes, Stitcher or your favorite podcast app. And please leave us a review 😀
