Russ Tamblyn is an American actor and dancer known for his dynamic performances in both classic musicals and dramatic films. He earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Peyton Place (1957) and gained widespread fame for his role as Riff, the leader of the Jets, in the iconic musical West Side Story (1961). A trained gymnast and dancer, Tamblyn also starred in films such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Tom Thumb. Later in his career, he became known to a new generation for his role as Dr. Lawrence Jacoby in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
