Mr. Janak is an Extension Program Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in the Department of Horticultural Sciences. He is also a PhD student in Texas A&M Horticulture. His work "The Sustainable Fruit Project" focuses on olives; to determine if they can be a sustainable venture for Texas farmers. Along the way he conducts research in an effort to improve the productivity of olives in Texas. He also studies the commercial production of figs, grapes, pears, and blackberries on small farms in Texas.
