Suniya Luthar is a psychologist and researcher who specializes in child psychology. Her work focuses on vulnerability and resilience among various populations including youth in poverty, children in families affected by mental illness, and teens in high achieving schools. Currently, she is Professor Emerita at Teachers College-Columbia University, and Co-Founder & Chief Research Officer at Authentic Connections Co.
Previously, Luthar was a faculty member at Yale University's Department of Psychiatry and the Yale Child Study Center and as Foundation Professor of Psychology at the Arizona State University.
Luthar received her B.S. and M.S. in Child Development from Lady Irwin College at Delhi University, and her Ph.D. in Developmental and Clinical Psychology from Yale University.
