Zev Yaroslavsky is a politician. He served on the Los Angeles City Council from 1975 to 1994 and on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors from 1974 to 2014, when he retired from Los Angeles politics.
Currently, Yaroslavsky is the Director of the Los Angeles Initiative at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and the Department of History, where his work focuses on the intersection of policy, politics and history of the Los Angeles region.
Yaroslavsky received his B.A. in Economics and History and his M.A. in British Imperial History from the University of California Los Angeles.
