Here are all the great podcasts I heard about at OzPod 2018!

CHILDPROOF: Tony Martin & Geraldine Quinn

Winner of Best Comedy at the 2018 Australian Podcast Awards, CHILDPROOF is an unproduced TV sitcom written by Tony Martin and Sarina Rowell. The six episodes were performed live at the 2017 Melbourne Fringe by Tony Martin, Geraldine Quinn, Roz Hammond, Andrew McClelland, Damian Cowell, Cristina Laria, Djovan Caro and Lachy Hulme, with a gaggle of guests and narration by Jay Mueller. It concerns those controversial types, the ‘childfree by choice’. They've been called ‘selfish’, ‘immature’, ‘unfulfilled’ and even ‘unAustralian’ – by their own families! Out of step with a world that exalts the traditional family unit above all else, Ian and Jennifer are also battling extinction in their workplaces – commercial radio and book publishing. Contains foul language. Not suitable for children.

Silent Waves

Maya Angelou once said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Silent Waves tells one true story led by 25 year old Raquel O’Brien, as she attempts to liberate herself from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse and a father with a dark secret. To do so, she has raw, honest and open conversations with her family about the cataclysmic circumstances of their story for the first time... and all on tape. What emerges is a larger story as her previously fractured family, emboldened by being interviewed, find the freedom to confront their conflicting versions of the events and reconcile with it and each other. SILENT WAVES is produced by Raquel O'Brien and Georgina Savage in partnership with Nearly Media.
