Ross Brand is a former radio broadcaster and a “pioneer” in the field of internet livestreaming. Klout ranked him as the number #1 livestreaming expert to follow on social media and Switcher Studio considers him an expert in live video production.  Through his business Livestream Universe, he helps other brands and entrepreneurs get their own livestreams off the ground while impressing how the medium is an unparalleled networking tool.  In this episode, Ross discusses how he made the transition from traditional radio broadcasting to web livestreaming, gives you the low-down on how you can get a livestream setup of your own going, and makes the case for why entrepreneurs should go all in on it. The Finer Details of This Episode: What it was like going live the first time for Ross and how he gradually became less camera-shy over time. Ross’ advice for getting your audio to sound crisp and clean—and why you should invest in a good set of headphones. The differences between condenser and dynamic microphones and what each means for your recording setup. Some microphones to consider: Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Dynamic, Samson Q2U Handheld Dynamic USB How Ross got into broadcasting to begin with and why he views it as a way to build new relationships. Ross pitches the value of livestreaming to entrepreneurs and marketers who may be listening to this episode. What you can do to engender relationships and networking via livestreaming. Why Ross prefers livestreaming to more traditional radio broadcasting work—and why it takes more work than you may think. The reason Ross believes branding plays a more instrumental role in getting your small business off the ground than selling. Quotes: “The heart of the content is really in the conversation.” “It’s not as important how many people show up as can it help you convert more leads.” “There are all these different ways you can use livestreaming that can give you a competitive advantage versus those who aren’t using it yet.” Guest Links:Livestream Universe - http://livestreamuniverse.com/ Livestream Deals - https://livestreamdeals.com/ Visit Brandon’s website at www.BrandsOnBrandsOnBrands.com Join the Brand Growth Community on Facebook at www.brandonbrands.com/fb And please leave a rating and review on iTunes!

3 Paths to Monetizing Your Live Video w/Ross Brand
Many agents fear getting on camera, not to mention live videos where there’s plenty of room for mistakes. Do mistakes make you look more human and approachable? What type of topics should you choose to speak about on video? Why is it important to have a call-to-action in your videos? In this episode, Ross Brand talks about how you can use live video to engage with your audience. Live streaming takes video to the next level because people can actually communicate with you through a live chat. -Ross Brand Three Things We Learned Timeless content is easier to monetize When you talk about topics that will remain the same even a year from now, you’re more likely to generate leads than when speaking about real estate trends. An excellent way to find evergreen topics for your live videos is to take a look at popular blog posts and put your own spin on them. Add a call-to-action at the end of the video Your viewers don’t want to feel like you’re selling to them, but they do want to find out what you do for a living. A good way to mention your real estate business is to put a call-to-action at the end of the video and let people know you’re available. You might not get warm leads right away, but after you build trust, your viewers will think of you when they need to buy or sell a property. Focus on the lifestyle people have in certain areas, not about the listing Most agents choose to use live videos for listings, but only a very small percentage of your audience is interested in buying a house right now. Instead of focusing on a a very niche audience, you can expand it by talking about the lifestyle in the neighborhoods where you’re active. For example, you speak about fun things to do during the weekend or the best restaurants in the area.   Don’t just recycle content on social media. When you re-post your live stream on social media, the content has a relatively short shelf life. Create a website or a social media page where people can browse through your videos and interact with your content. This way, your content is easier to find and will serve your branding efforts months and maybe even years after it was published the first time. Guest Bio Ross Brand is a livestream strategist, podcast host, speaker, and On-AIR personality. He was named the number #1 Live Streaming Expert by Klout and was selected as one of the “5 Live Video Experts to Follow” by Switcher Studio. In the present, Ross creates content for podcasts and Alexa Flash Briefings and is the founder of Livestream Universe. You can find out more about him here.

Episode 05 - Using Live Streaming with Ross Brand
Live streaming has garnered a lot of attention of late because of its ability to attract subscribers and potential clients. Although some have been very successful in making it work for their business, not everyone can earn from it directly - and this is not a bad thing because there are other paths you can take as a business owner to help you maximize various live streaming benefits.  Certainly, you can go ahead and sell products to monetize live streaming. But like most successful live streamers, you can also opt to use live streams to build long-term relationships with clients. Re-purposing your live stream content to create an online portfolio is likewise a smart move toward solidifying your digital footprint. Whichever way you choose, when done right, there is no doubt that you can take advantage of live streaming to grow your business.  In this Episode: How Ross loves featuring live streamers, learning from them and getting to know live stream personalities The 3 paths by which live streaming can be used to get direct earnings or foster relationships with customers How simple selling can be done via live streams How to build relationships or build your personal brand using live streaming  How to repurpose live stream content to your blogs, YouTube channel, Twitter, or LinkedIn, through the portfolio method How to deal with challenges like having no or few audience members or not knowing what to talk about in your live stream The importance of developing a live streaming skill set today for its huge future potential How to deal with the fear of live streaming especially for first-timers The basic tools to get started with live streaming using what you already have Ross’ red carpet experience at Mario Armstrong’s Never Settle Show

Live Stream Tips For Consultants & Coaches - 031
Ross Brand joins us in this episode to talk about ways your coaching/consulting business can leverage live video to get an edge on your competitors. B E C O M E  A  B O V  I N S I D E R: http://thebusinessofvideopodcast.com S H O W  S P O N S O R: https://vidsummit.com/   WHERE DO YOU START WHEN YOU WANT TO CREATE A SHOW? Some who start on mobile may develop some BAD HABITS. Start off with interviews so you are not alone trying to figure out what to say. You can bring on experts to build up interest and a following, you can even bring on customers to talk about their experiences. You learn to listen and the best questions come from something your guest says and not what you planned. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SHOW AND PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESS? There are 3 paths to making money with your show.     #1: You can get on and directly sell your products/services     #2: You provide value, have a conversation, and build a       relationship             relationship with your followers/clients.     #3: The most effective is the portfolio method. How people can find out more about you.            find out more about you. People really should put more time into method #3. This is how people will find out if you are a great match for them. The value of going live, you can show you know what you are talking about and show you are passionate about it. You show you can react in real time to things. Need to learn how to repurpose your live show to get others to find you on replays. You do not need to break through the noise and get thousands of views if that one view is that customer you are looking for, it was effective. WHERE IS YOUR CALL TO ACTION? With BeLive, you can put your call to action in the lower third, and you do not always have to even mention it. Have different call to actions throughout your broadcast. Coaches and consultants have many ways during a broadcast to demonstrate how they can impact their clients. You need to position your broadcast, even if you got very little viewers.  REPURPOSE, REPURPOSE, REPURPOSE!!! HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO SAY WHEN ON CAMERA? There is nothing wrong with just going on and introducing yourself your first time going live. Talk a bit about yourself and wrap it up quick, and as you do more shows go longer and longer. You start getting into your content more and delivering it to your viewers. If you are new to live broadcasting, script what you want to say in the beginning and end. Have notes and build off of that. DO NOT wait for more people to join!!! HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR SHOW BETWEEN LIVE VIEWERS AND REPLAY VIEWERS? Pick which one you will prioritize. But for the replay viewers, your audio becomes important. For your live audience, put their comments up on the screen. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BEST LIVE STREAMING TOOLS? BeLive.tv Get a good microphone, don't forget about the replay viewers! Have some headphones to keep out the noise. DO YOU WAIT TO REPOST AND REPURPOSE YOUR CONTENT? Try to drive people to Facebook 24 to 48 hours, but after that, it does not really matter. It is not a huge game changer.
Live Streaming Success with Ross Brand WPCP: 163
I have a confession to make. I was SUPER hesitant to jump into live streaming. For a few reasons. The first reason was that I would have to "get ready", as in, do my hair & makeup every day (O.K., technically I don't have to do that. I get that most people really don't care if what you look like if the content is good, but this was my hang up). Another reason was that I didn't want to just jump on at talk at people.  I wanted to have a strategy, plan it a bit, and make sure I had some time to promote the live stream. When I did jump in I got results INSTANTLY. I was floored by the engagement, the number of people that showed up (more than normally show up for a webinar), and the traffic to my live stream post after the event (I pull the videos into my site with Simple Social Press and write a post along with the video. The bonus with using Simple Social Press is that it also pulls the Facebook comments into the site as blog comments, which is awesome). I knew I wanted to have someone on the show to talk about live streaming and after seeing Ross Brand everywhere, I knew I wanted to connect with him. We recorded this a few months ago and things have just gotten bigger (and better) since we first connected. Questions I Asked Ross Can you share a little bit about your background and how you got into live streaming & broadcasting? What is your current business? What are some of the things people are doing with live streaming? How are people monetizing live streaming? Why do you think people are so hesitant to get into live streaming? Who are some of the people that you see doing live streaming well? What You're Going to Learn The three different ways people are monetizing live streaming How Mario Armstrong, of the 'Never Settle Show' is using live streaming to grow his brand What differentiates live streaming from T.V. The technical basics you need to get into live streaming The power of finding the right platform for your audience Why you should look at live streaming as a content strategy Where to Connect with Ross Website | Facebook | Twitter
