286- The F*ck it Bucket

The f*ck it bucket is where you put all of the jobs and things and things to buy you thought you would get around to doing before your wedding but have run out of time or care. These items are tasks are things you thought would be important at the early stages of planning but now…bye! This episode was inspired by a Reddit thread with couples shared lists of everything they were throwing in their f*ck it bucket. It's a cathartic exercise will help you just let go and move on and it's very funny. It's not to say that these tasks and items aren't fun and great if you have them it's more about allowing yourself to say 'it doesn't really matter and no I It's a cathartic exercise will help you just let go and move on and it's very funny. 281- Ditching Wedding Stress and Anxiety with Dr Lindsay Bira

There has been a lot of talk in The Bridechilla Community of late about wedding planning with depression, stress, and anxiety. The conversation has been candid and I am so happy that we have a place where Bridechillas feel comfortable sharing their personal experiences. Pre-existing depression, anxiety, and stress don't just stop because you are engaged. We are so often told that we should just cheer up or that ‘you’’ be fine on the day’ when it comes to anxiety. and a surprising amount of Bridechillas feel experience anxiety and stress due to wedding planning. Expectations, family relationships, and work pressure, on top of the pressure we put on ourselves, can all add up. If you are nervous or worried about being the centre of attention or the focal point of your wedding day, if you are nervous about the pressure of maintaining tenuous family relationships during this period of your life or are worried about how to talk about stress, depression, and anxiety, then I know today’s episode will be super helpful. My returning guest, Dr Lindsay Bira is a clinical health psychologist functioning as a therapist, consultant and speaker in San Antonio, TX.  We hope to reduce stigma related to mental illness and mental health treatments. Bridechilla Best of: 172- The Guest List & RSVPs

Today I revisit some moments from an earlier episode, with a new twist…the guest list and RSVPs. When you’re planning a wedding, creating a guest list, who to send those magic wedding invitations to, should be discussed early and discussed often. Like my very dear, close personal friend Heidi Klum says 'You are either in, or you're out'. Today obligation wedding guests (and how to ditch them). I give easy, clear cut solutions to prevent family wars, relationship breakdowns and how to adhere to basic manners and etiquette without inviting the whole neighbourhood to your wedding day. As with your budget, with guest list and numbers you’re going to need to set clear goals and guidelines. What is your absolute maximum number of guests? Do you first work out your guest list and then your wedding budget or do you find a venue, work out the pricing and then the guest list? Should you invite friends from work? Your cousin has a new girlfriend, does she have to come? Parents paying? How much say do they get? Take a breath. Relax and listen to this episode to regain control of the list and invite who YOU want to invite. I enjoyed listening to some of my earlier advice and updating a few points along the way and know you will too! Love the Bridechilla Podcast and want access to 250+ episodes! 299- Stop saying yes to Sh*t you hate with Talia Pollock

I share a fabulous conversation with fellow stand up comedian, Bridechilla and Podcaster Talia Pollock, originally recorded as part of her podcast Party in My Plants. Talia is a great believer that being healthy doesn't have to suck. She thinks 'it’s possible to drink green juice AND drink cocktails, that it’s do-able to eat quinoa AND online date and that it’s really OK to not eat dairy AND still go to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico'. In this episode, we talk about the cult mindset of '#sheddingforthewedding', family pressure and body image (especially coming up to the holiday season). We also talk about managing stress on the day of your wedding and look at different mindsets for relaxation and incorporating our pre-stand up comedy performing routine (not freaking out) into our wedding routines. We also share our tips for giving yourself permission to be different and not follow the crowd, an area that I know can be challenging in all facets of our lives, not just weddings. Talia is a total Bridechilla, she even asked her best friend to 'not be her bridesmaid' and is including her love of healthy food in her wedding, even though some of her guests are bitching about wanting a steak! I look forward to having Talia as a returning guest on Bridechilla in the new year. Join the Bridechilla Community on Facebook. The best Wedding Planning community around.
