About This List

There are lots of high quality podcasts out there. Some are made by people in their kitchens, others in big budget studios. Here are the shows currently in my queue. I’m looking for more indie pods so send me your show and I’ll give it a shot!
  1. Big Name Shows

  2. This is what the news should sound like. The biggest stories of our time, told by the best journalists in the world. Hosted by Michael Barbaro. Twenty minutes a day, five days a week, ready by 6 a.m.
  3. NPR's Up First is the news you need to start your day. The three biggest stories of the day, with reporting and analysis from NPR News — in 10 minutes. Available weekdays by 6 a.m. ET, with hosts Rachel Martin, Noel King and Steve Inskeep. Now available on Saturdays by 8 a.m. ET, with hosts Lulu Garcia-Navarro and Scott Simon. Subscribe and listen, then support your local NPR station at donate.npr.org.
  4. News comes at you fast. Join us at the end of your day to understand it. Today, Explained is your all killer, no filler, Monday to Friday news explainer hosted by Sean Rameswaram and featuring the finest reporters from the Vox Media Podcast Network and beyond.
  5. "'A podcast about the internet' that is actually an unfailingly original exploration of modern life and how to survive it." - The Guardian. Hosted by Alex Goldman and Emmanuel Dzotsi from Gimlet.
  6. Maybe you’ve laid awake imagining how it could have been, how it might yet be, but the moment to act was never right. Well, the moment is here and the podcast making it happen is Heavyweight. Join Jonathan Goldstein for road trips, thorny reunions, and difficult conversations as he backpedals his way into the past like a therapist with a time machine. From Gimlet Media.
  7. Hello! This is The Vergecast, the flagship podcast of The Verge... and your life. Every Friday, Nilay Patel and Dieter Bohn make sense of the week's tech news with help from our wide-ranging staff. And on Tuesdays, Nilay hosts in-depth, one-on-one interviews with major technology leaders. Join us every week for a fun, deeply nerdy, often off-the-rails conversation about what's happening now (and next) in technology and gadgets.
  1. Lots of Fans, But Not Household Names

  2. Three nerds discussing tech, Apple, programming, and loosely related matters.
  3. The day's tech news, every day at 5pm. From Techmeme.com, Silicon Valley's most-read news source. 15 minutes and you're up to date.
  4. On a weekly basis the Rooster Teeth crew discuss gaming, films, popular culture, the internet, and projects that they're currently working on. Watch LIVE every Monday at 5PM CT on svod.roosterteeth.com. Watch the free video version at YouTube.com/RoosterTeeth.
  5. Join Sebastien Page and Cody Lee on this weekly podcast about everything Apple and beyond.
  1. The Indie Podcasts

  2. Listen to weekly discussions about what is going on in "the nerdy world." CJ, Josh, and Brian engage in a relaxed casual conversation that is funny but informative. It could be Movies, Comics, or Technology. Listen to the show and you'll be That Kind of Nerd. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ThatKindofNerd/support
  3. A deep dive into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in podcast form
  4. This podcast has two simple elements, stories and songs. Each episode, I, Tom Rorem, a Seattle based musician and songwriter, will invite someone to tell a story through an interview or written monologue. From this I write, record, mix, and master, an original song inspired by that story. This is an exploration on how inspiration can create a beautiful thing.
  5. A podcast focusing on a range of nerd fandoms, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, DC Comics, Game of Thrones, and more! Art: Mike G | Theme: "This Morning" by Lobo Loco
  6. Don't know what to watch? Join Jon Negroni of AwardsWatch and Will Ashton of CinemaBlend for no-nonsense conversations about the latest films coming to theaters and streaming online. We may not always agree, but one thing's for sure. We're both Cinemaholics.
  7. Welcome to Podcasting with Aaron! If you're interested in learning about podcasting, this show is for you. My goal for this show is to share what I've learned about podcasting so far and introduce you to other podcast producers and people working in the podcasting industry.
