About This List

This list is all the shows I learned about on Podchaser that I wish I would've created myself... then I listen to them, and realize they're better just the way they are. Periodically updated throughout 2021.
  1. Mythical Chefs Josh Scherer and Nicole Hendizadeh discuss, debate, and dissect the web’s most hilariously controversial culinary quandaries.
  2. Who is Lolita? The Nabokov literary classic has sparked infinite discussion in the 65 years since its release, but the cultural memory the book has left behind lives more in romance and fashion aesthetics than a cautionary tale about a deceptive predator and his young prey. Jamie Loftus wants to know how we got here, and this series traces Lolita -- the person, Dolores Haze -- from her literary origin to current status as a doomed icon.
  3. Parenting teens and young adults today is a huge challenge. Sandy Fowler brings help as she interviews experts, shares stories and gets real digging into relevant topics such as stress, anxiety, bullying, social media, peer pressure, healthy coping strategies, learning disabilities, communication, parenting strategies, and so much more. The Mighty Parenting podcast goes upstream and focuses on sharing information that families, educators and mentors can use to empower kids in an effective way.
  4. Cindy Wang Brandt is a mother and progressive Christian writer who is on a mission to support the journeys of parents interested in Parenting Forward with progressive values. She's an author, blogger, community leader, coach, and live and online education provider for parents who are committed to raising their kids in a faith that isn't hierarchical, controlling and fundamentalist and want to see their children desire mercy and not sacrifice, to grow up walking in the ways of Jesus for peace, righteousness, and wholeness! The Parenting Forward podcast features interviews with authors and thought leaders from progressive faith spaces, monthly listener question shows, and practical strategies for parents, grandparents, and anyone who loves children and wants to commit to treating children with justice. We believe that if we change the way we parent, we can change the world!
