Hey Herd,
Welcome back. It’s your host Kristine Hoestermann, here to dive into week four of a rare education. Time seems to be moving so fast but weather you are completing week one, two, or three of this school year I think one thing for sure … this is not what you signed up for. Well, you are not alone as a veteran education I am overwhelmed and finding that there are truly not enough hours in the day to make this all work. Community is more important than ever which is why I asked a good friend of mine Theresa Thomas to join me today to share her rare education…
For those of you who don’t know Theresa is the founder of larger than bws, coo of rare, and above all else a mother. Welcome Theresa.
__________
I know you wear many advocacy hats in your life but the one I want to chat with you about today is the advocacy hat worn with your oldest son Michael
Do you mind telling us a little bit about your family and some of Michael’s educational background and needs pre-cvoid?
Now for those who may not be familiar with the bucks county school district
What is the current educational model/reentry plan
If you don’t mind me asking can you talk a bit about how your thought process has changed throughout CVOID as it relates to Michael’s education and maybe touch a little on any challenges for yourself and as a family, you have experienced?
What are the two most helpful strategies or supports you have been given from this podcast or other communities you are a part of?
Any advice for other parents listening out there who may be struggling?
Thank you for being here with us Theresa. Best of luck to you and your family this school year.
And don’t forget to all your families, teachers, and students out there have fun this virtual school week otherwise it will be torture… catch ya next Monday
