Up on this week's ABCA Podcast are Eric and Gordie Theisen, a father-son coaching duo from Hillsdale College. Eric is the head coach with Gordie as assistant coach of the NCAA Div. II school, which has reached the NCAA Tournament in two of the last three seasons. Eric was named the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2016 and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2018. Before coming to Hillsdale, Eric was the pitching coach at Siena Heights. Gordie has been Eric's assistant since 2014 and has a wealth of experience in the college game. He was head coach at Siena Heights University from 1987-2003, racking up 341 career victories, and after that was the pitching coach at Adrian College. In this episode we discuss their relationship coaching together and what has helped Eric coaching by going to Brussels to pitch after college. Gordie gives great insight on being an older coach learning new technology. We also do a deep dive into the resources and habits that help both of them be successful coaches.
