I listen to a lot of horror podcasts and a lot of them are exhaustingly similar. I didn't think I would like this podcast as much as I do - I've run through all of the episodes posted so far and am now patiently waiting for my paycheck so that I can get access to the author's book on Patreon. I don't know exactly what makes this different from other horror audio dramas in this style but some of the episodes have chilled me in a way that I havent felt since listening to I Am In Eskew after being thoroughly numbed to audio drama horror through TMA. Consistent writing, voice acting that doesn't seem forced or over the top, and effective horror.

This is absolutely one of my most favorite podcasts. The first few episodes were good enough, but I feel like as I make my way down through the episodes to the most current ones, they just become more and more eerie and incredible. I’ve only got four or five more to listen to and I’ve never been more sad to catch up to anything in my life. I stumbled across this podcast after getting recommendations from Knifepoint Horror’s subreddit, and I can’t lie; I much prefer the stories in Acephale. Knifepoint is still good, but I feel like I’m often disappointed by the endings. Ending a horror short has always seemed difficult, but I find Acephale nails the endings without leaving them too nebulous and unsatisfying, all while remaining sufficiently haunting. Gonna be so sad when my binge catches me up. ):
