Think Scrubs meets Discworld, and you're half way to the comedy genius that is Alba Salix! This is the show that gives the world what we had no idea we needed: A hospital sit com set in a medieval fantasy world. Not to be missed!
Both Alba Salix & it's Axe & Crown spinoff are among my favorite shows. They're silly - slapstick silly, full of ridiculous mishaps and centaur chiropractics and intercultural misunderstandings. Characters are broadly drawn and played for humor, and all in all it feels like a wonderful fantasy-world farce. And then there are feelings. Moments of genuine emotion and tenderness, little pockets of meaning. These shows are silly as hell, but they use the silliness to take you somewhere. SO well done. I tend to focus on the writing but... the sound design is seamless and if you're me you stop noticing it entirely and just feel like you're there.
I LOVE THIS SHOW. I'm also biased. :)
I love this show so very much and I adore how rich and full the world is and only becomes more so with each season. The characters are full of life and energy and I feel that with every line. So much depth makes me feel like I know both the world and the characters so well. The writing is so funny and rich while also having emotional heart and some very powerful moments.
Funny and charming, well worth a listen when you want a cheer up. Axe and Crown is my personal favourite but Alba is fab too!
I love this show. You'll be immersed in a world of wonder and the comedy of the day-to-day grind! It's just great!
Humorous fantasy setting with great characters, voice acting, and multiple storylines. Love it.
A fantastic and hilarious show!
So good. I love Alba and crew.
Alba is just trying to run a respectable house of healing but people's shenanigans keep getting in the way - mostly those of her assistants. Good thing they're so endearing. This show is wonderful and hilarious.
A really light hearted fantasy story that gets deeper and richer as it goes on. An absolute joy to listen to and also quite funny. I reccomend this show to friends all the time!
I didn't think I'd care for this show much when I started it but I ended up loving it! Especially The Axe and Crown episodes. I need so much more of it all in my life!
Never thought I'd be into something like this but I guess I am now!
If you're looking for a fun time you can't go wrong with this show.
Very entertaining, we just need more
One of my all-time favorite podcasts. Great jokes, wonderful characters, and random quirky happenings on every step of the adventure!
Took a second to get into the The Axe and Crown side story but love both Alba and Axe. Both are hilarious Alba has some LGBTQ+ theme which is always great!
It's so fun! All the characters are well fleshed out showing all sides the good the bad the ugly and the embarrassing. One season in to both Alba Salix and Axe & Crown so far and loving it!
A hilarious, ridiculous, heart-warming podcast with some incredible sound production and amazing script writing.
Really fun podcast that doesn't take itself too seriously. Some awesome world building in here too.
