RATING
This podcast is well-written and concise. I really like the host, and the writing is good. However, I found that if I was familiar with the topic being covered, I didn't learn anything new about it. I listened to the first 10 episodes, and I already knew about each incident, so I didn't learn anything new.
Funny and informative. It's interesting to foreign listeners too because I guess all cultures have myths and beliefs sustained on panic and irrational fears.
This podcast is interesting and informative but the host speaks soooooo slowly. I changed the speed to about 1.5x and that made it much more pleasant to listen to.
Mostly solid content! A little slow in the pacing, and rarely next-level insightful, but I usually learn some stuff. Sometimes host tries to do sarcasm & it doesn't really work. Enjoy many of the topic choices and CWS has a really lovely voice.
I love this podcast, so well researched and witty. I learn something new every time! The host is an absolute delight and keeps me interested and always coming back!
Been listening to Chelsey and American Hysteria since the first season. They have been producing fantastic podcasts since the beginning and keep getting better and better. The latest season has been great - looking at Jackass, Drag acts and Chick tracts. Goes from strength to strength
so, in the episode about illuminati, they mention how ”power is not evenly distributed”. by definition, power cannot be evenly distributed. by nature, it can`t even be distributed, because it tends to concentrate. during the episodes i listened to, and which are interesting, the creators tend to counter conspiracies with flawed premises, such as the above (it`s just one example of several) . this means that they are not actually trying to stop any of the madness, but are in fact participating in the noise. in this sense, the show is not about truth, but about showing off how clever and special and knowledgeable its creators are. and i don`t care about that, no one does.
Lots of info I didn't know about panics I heard about.
So entertaining and informative! Love Chelsey-Weber-Smith and the way to helps contextualize current events through the lens of history.
Couldn't get into this one. Was not in depth or interesting enough, not very funny.
American Hysteria shines new (and often strange) light to the mundane and things we take for granted. It’s well researched, engaging, and easy to both follow and listen. The topics are of a wide variety from hamburgers to the Appalachia. It’s a must listen to anyone who enjoys even a little bit of the unusual. Give this a listen and subscribe!
