Sean Hughes was an Irish stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. He was known for his Channel 4 show "Sean's Show" and for being a regular team captains on the BBC Two game show "Never Mind the Buzzcocks."Hughes was born in Archway, London, and raised in Firhouse, Dublin. He was bullied in Ireland for his British accent and developed his early comedy skills as a defense mechanism. He started stand-up in 1987. He had acting roles in movies and on television. He also wrote both prose and poetry and worked on a number of films. His novels are "The Detainees," published in 1998 and "It's What He Would Have Wanted," published in 2000.In 2013, Hughes started a podcast called "Under The Radar."Hughes died in London at the age of 51 on 16 October 2017 from cirrhosis. | Guest | |
