Yet another sexual assault allegation against Donald Trump and it barely makes a blip on the US media radar. Jarlath asks Marion McKeone (SBP, NPR & BBC Washington Correspondent) why this is the case. Amy Doris is the 26th woman to lodge a formal allegation and as Steve Bannon predicted, it doesn’t seem to be an issue that bothers the Republican base.Marion digs deeper into how jaded the public have become on this issue. With the Presidential Debates looming large, Jarlath asks Marion is Biden’s realism on the prospect of vaccine development a weak point that Trump will exploit in order to appear as the more positive and hopeful candidate.
There’s also some listener questions and Jarlath goes off piste to try to understand the Trump “long game”. Much to Jarlath’s delight, Marion succeeds in finding the most positive ending of any of our episodes so far.If you have a question for Marion please send it through to [email protected] and Jarlath will do his best to include it next week.
