What’s an alliance? The Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten and Pac-12 unveiled what they are calling an alliance of the three Power Five conferences. It will involve some scheduling and some working together to shape the future of college sports. There wasn’t a lot of detail, but it certainly seemed like it could be a big deal. Or not. AP college football poll voter Brett McMurphy, now of the Action Network, joined AP’s Ralph Russo just a couple of hours after the big announcement to try to figure out what it is and how it could affect college football, especially the proposed expansion of the playoff.
