About: Romaine Waite was born in Jamaica and raised in Canada. Romaine found his love for performing at an early age when he took drama at his high school. It wasn’t until he earned a role in a small indie film when he realized acting was a career he wanted to pursue in life.

After a small stint in theatre, Romaine would make the transition to film and television when he got cast in numerous short and independent films. His first big break came when he appeared on his first network show in the Canadian drama series MURDOCH MYSTERIES (CITY/CBC). Since then, Romaine has amassed a significant body of work in several other film and television productions including 12 MONKEYS (SYFY), BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (THE CW), SCHITT’S CREEK (NETFLIX/CBC), PRIVATE EYES (GLOBAL/ION), THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE (STARZ), THE MIST (PARAMOUNT), THE STRAIN (FX), STAR TREK DISCOVERY (CBS), SHADOWHUNTERS: THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS (NETFLIX/FREEFORM), LITTLE DOG (CBC), Canadian sci-fi horror film ANTISOCIAL and action feature SCRATCH. Romaine has also demonstrated true acting dexterity in well-reviewed live stage performances as Aaron Levinsky in NUTS (SCARBOROUGH VILLAGE THEATRE, 2014) and Rick in KILLCREEK (TORONTO FRINGE FESTIVAL, 2013).

Most recently, he was cast as series regular Bill Peters in the popular drama series FRANKIE DRAKE MYSTERIES (CBC). Coming up next you can catch Romaine reprising his role once again in the third season of the show which premiered on September 16th, 2019 at 9:00 PM ET/9:30PM NT on CBC. Other releases include his role as Winston Sams in the audience favourite HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES mystery movie series CROSSWORD MYSTERIES: PROPOSING MURDER and CROSSWORD MYSTERIES: ABRACADAVER set to premiere this October 2019 on the HALLMARK CHANNEL.

As an actor, Romaine is committed to telling true-to-life stories that not only entertain, but also provoke frank conversations about the human condition and the state of our society.
