On Ask Win today (Saturday, March 23, 2019), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Shane Dietrich. Shane grew up in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduation, Shane joined the U.S. Army planning to make it a career. Unfortunately, he was medically discharged and although he is now disabled Shane don’t regret a single thing. After leaving the army, Shane spent about 10 years living in Fairbanks, Alaska exploring the vast wilderness, hunting and fishing. The late 90s brought Shane back to MN and he began work in civil service, and remain there today. In 2017, Shane married a talented woman, the love of his life. She had read several of Shane’s short stories and opinion pieces and convinced me to take on something larger. They lovingly refer to the work on the book as like building a house. Shane laid the foundation, framed it, put up the roof and walls and, by doing the rough editing, she did all the interior design, making it palatable for reading. When the manuscript was completed, Shane sent it to a freelance editor for a final revision and now we are in the process of querying agents. Shane did get an offer to publish from a hybrid publisher, but having representation means more to him. Shane would love to make a career change and become a full time writer.
