RATING
This show is hilarious and it´s instantly become one of my favourite funny shows. The well written, bite-sized episodes are really well produced with a witty and clever dialogue. This show brightens up even the gloomiest of days.
It's whimsical comedy written by a community of comedy writers. It's ridiculous every single moment and brings me some giggles. There are some jokes I get lost on but overall, it's just plain fun.
There were some really funny lines in this show, but episodes were so short that we didn't really have a full story. I would have enjoyed additional episodes or even longer episodes if it would have fleshed out the whole story more. Overall, I cannot recommend.
A comedy pod set in Ancient Rome with a solid story and characters. It’s very short, and I listened to the whole thing while cleaning one afternoon. I wanted to like this more than I did - I’m a Latin teacher, and I guess it’s just one of those times when knowing too much about a topic kinda ruins the show. The writer obviously knows something about Rome, but there are little things here and there that will be distracting if you have more than a passing familiarity with the content. The Latin itself is a machine-translate-y (and the actors don’t pronounce it so well), but they tried? I guess?
Listened to only season 1. I found the comedy to be pretty stale. If they wrote a joke that goes "Airplane food? What's up with that?", it would be completely in line with the quality and originality of every other joke in this show. They had 3 types of jokes that they kept going back to: Did You Notice The Anachronism?, Old People Having Sex is Gross, Pig Latin Is Funny If It's Slightly Rude. I could see practically every punchline coming a mile away.
It's a screwball workplace comedy set in Ancient Rome. Not for me.
Crude, outrageous, stupid...things that make up for a senseless comedy to laugh and shake your head while you listen to. There is one satirical episode from season 1 that touches on social hierarchy which I find really good and is their best episode that I so far listened to. A really good podcast to listen to if you are finished listening to other outrageous comedies such as Gay Future, 14 Days with Felicity, and the Carlotta Beautox Chronicles.
