Worthless and unamusing meanderings from two people who are very quick to demonise and belittle the theories and thoughts of others (often dismissing them as sexist or otherwise prejudiced) while offering nothing of worth by way of replacement. A waste of the time I spent giving the benefit of the doubt past the first episode. Why did I listen to the second, let alone third and fourth?
Interesting concept and could be entertaining , but the actual production is awful. The most terrible writing. Almost every sentence begins 'So'....and then they admit that its scripted.
Spend the time bickering about who is most PC rather than getting in to the content.
What does this podcast need? Higher production value maybe? Edit out all the awkward pauses so it's faster paced, more upbeat? Keener vetting of 'insightful and funny' v. 'leave on the cutting room floor' ? WHY ISN'T IT BETTER ? Sofie Hagen can be such a delight, but this chemistry feels off.
I adore this podcast. The hosts are extremely likeable. This does just state the facts of the case, they really go into the reason why people do terrible things. This podcast explains complix psychology in a way that is easy to understand. They amount of respect that should to vitciums is outstanding. I also like after discussing a sometimes dark topic the hosts always live you with a sweet story to lighten the mood. I feel like this podcast has left be with a better understanding of human nature and made me re-evaluate some misconceptions I had about crime. The relationship between the hosts is a thing of beauty. This is must for any who is a fan of true crime or people wanting to gain a better understanding of the human mind.
I just... love it. It's so nuanced and balanced, quite different from a lot of (most? all!) other true crime podcasts.Thank you, Julia and Sofie. You are the best. <3
Pure torture. I stuck with it for episode 1 as the subject is interesting (and maybe I have masochistic tendencies) but I gave up not far into the next episode. The presenters were just awful. Irritating beyond belief. I'll give the American sounding one a bit of a pass as she seemed to at least be knowledgable but I have no idea why the European sounding one was there. The watershed moment for me was when she interrupted her co-host (who was quoting statistics on crime rates by gender) to state "Obviously we both know and acknowledge that there are more than two genders, I think we should both make that clear...". Yes, obviously!Ah well, on to the next show.
Terrible scripting, flippant delivery, bad production. Big disappointment as it's a great concept.
