Felt it was pretty well researched and covered something I knew very little about. The parallels and very scary to today and I could see why we should be visiting this topic again at this time. But there was an element to it that I just didn't love, and I can't place my finger on it. Maybe the presentation was just a little dry.

I'm an historian who has followed the Agnew scandal since childhood, so this podcast should have been perfect for me. It was not. My biggest issue was Maddow repeating some variation of "Here, for the first time ever, we will reveal . . ." approximately five times in every episode. We get it: there is some new reporting here.

Ordinarily, I would have given this a pass but I'm glad I tried it. This series is short, to-the-point, well-researched and it brings to the fore an important part of American political history. Editorialization on the part of the hosts seems nonexistent - contextualizing the events is left to those who lived through it. The story is fascinating and, until now, underreported. A valuable reference point for our time.
