Stories from the bat conservation movement. This podcast is for anyone who loves bats or has an interest in bat conservation and the wider bat conservation community. Ecologist and Bat Conservation Trust Trustee Steve Roe talks to the experts as well as local heroes to bring you the stories from the world of bat conservation, often on-location. Series 4 is here and recording for series 5 is underway. Bats are magical but misunderstood mammals. At the Bat Conservation Trust we have a vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together.
I very much enjoyed the BatChat podcast released on 17.11.21 which came from Paston Great Barn. It is a place I have long wanted to visit for its association with letters writers of the Paston family in the late medieval and early Tudor period. Some of the writers were women and their authentic voice in a period from which they are seldom heard is very important to me. To hear Steve interview another “Paston Woman”: Jane Harris in the 21st century was really enjoyable. The role of women in conservation and bat work in particular in the last 30 years has been significant and this respectful and detailed podcast was a real acknowledgement of that. Thank you
This is a truly exceptional wildlife focused podcast but its as much about the people as about the bats. I have just listened to episode 1 of Season 3 and I cant wait for the next episode to drop. Season 1 & 2 covered everything from science through to gardening. Often filmed on site in old buildings, zoos or remote rural locations. Love it and highly recommend it
